Well I have not posted anything for a while. I think it’s because I was convinced I needed to immediately put up a “Who Am I? (Part 2)” right away. I have decided I’m just going to start this blog and when the time comes I will post “Part 2”
Here I Go.
Spring is finally here in Calgary. Everyone else is well into it but Calgary was a little slow this year… actually painfully slow. For the month of April it was cold and snowy with spring nowhere to be seen. Fortunately it looks spring is now here to stay! Goodbye hoodies and hello to t-shirts and shorts for as long as possible!
Besides the weather turning good, thing around here have actually been pretty quiet. I guess that is understandable because it is only the beginning of May and it’s not the hottest time of year in the entertainment industry (locally). I had this idea when I started working full time back in September that it would be non-stop busy all year round but when your only exposed to the demands of your city then the busy and slow times at work are more noticed.
During this quiet time I have had the opportunity to explore some of my interests. I had a great opportunity this week. My next entry will be all about that. Right now I have to go to bed since I have work in a few hours!
Looking forward to this weekend!

Who am I? That’s a pretty good question. Its a pretty broad question to say the least. If you already know me I encourage you to read on, I guarantee you will learn something new. I like to keep an open mind and hope that someone who does not know me reads this blog.
Before I start I would like to say that I was never a person drawn to the language arts. I find it very ironic that here I am writing freely after despising English class all my life. Maybe it’s the freedom that attracted me back. I never have to worry about receiving a passing grade or getting a piece of work back covered in red circles and scribbles. The effort to please other individuals through writing has been abolished. This blog is an ongoing, forever growing archive of my thoughts, opinions and emotions while I try to find my place in this world.
My name is Andrew Curtin, I am 18 and live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I graduated high school in June of 2007 and currently work for a very reputable lighting company here in Calgary. My life really began for me when I was 13. I have always had this fascination for technology. Technology is always and changing and getting better through demand, success and failure. Technology for me at first was computers. I’m proud to say that I was not the kid who stayed inside all day playing computer games and chatting online with anonymous people. I was the kid who had a screwdriver and an uncontrollable curiosity with what could be inside that humming box below my feet. Once I knew all I could know about how it worked I then wanted to know how I could use it to my advantage and if necessary, how could I make it better? That mindset I started with has not changed very much and I believe it has to stay that way in order for me to be successful.
As I got older my fascination and knowledge about technology only grew stronger. At the same time my awareness and appreciation for the arts also grew stronger too. It is appropriate to say I fully work in the entertainment industry. More specifically I work as a technician in the entertainment industry. The fusion of technology and art together resulted in me becoming a technician.
