Where To?

Lots have been going on in the last few months with me. I have always been an individual who loves a job or education with dynamics. When I say dynamics I mean always changing. New challenges good or bad awaiting me every day when I wake up. I also like to feel as if I’m moving forward to new and better thing as I progress. All these experiences have been happening to me up until now. One day everything stopped. Suddenly now it feels like all those goals off in the distant future are suddenly unreachable because every has just stopped and I don’t know how to get things moving again. So with nothing changing and moving forward in my life I have to ask the question is this is for me? Do I wait it out and hope that one day soon my luck with change. Wait for somebody to see me for who I am and the amazing person I wish to be only to soon reveal an opportunity that will take me closer to where I want to go? Or do I need to take matters into my own hands and carry myself to my goals while leaving everything else behind. I must admit theses are hard choices for myself. I’m a very young person and learning life lessons by the day.

Another questions that come to mind is should I move on to other goals and interest? The problem is that I have too many and deciding on one thing is very hard for me. Fortunately through a lot of time and research I have narrowed down the paths I can take to lead me to the carrer I want.

The beauty of it all is that I can combine a lot of my intrest togeather. Besides the world of entertainment I have always been facinated with systems. Especially electrical systems. I’m not interested in wiring housese or buildings but more large scale projects.

A Brighter Wash?

I like to keep up with what different lighting manufactures are creating. If you don’t know whats changing in your industry then everything becomes a bit static. I have always though that Martin needed a brighter wash fixture in their line up. The 2K series have the exact same set-up when it come to their light source. You have a 1200 W HTI bulb with all of them. In the Profile and the Performance they sure pack a good punch but the wash is satisfactory.

Martin has now created the Mac 2000 Wash XB. I’m just going to go out on a limb here and guess that “XB” stands for eXtra Bright. They have beefed up the light source and made improvements on the overall performance of the previous Mac 2000 Wash. The biggest change is it’s 40% brighter. There is now a Osram HTI 1500 W/D7/60 SharXS lamp putting out 60 000 lumens. Not sure if there are some different bulbs to choose from. Whats really neat is if you already own a lot of Mac 2000 Wash’s and want your fixtures to be 40% brighter, Martin now offers a upgrade kit to convert your existing fixtures. Martin is also offering a buy-back program for your 1200 W ballast that you will no longer need once you upgrade.

Hi everyone, my name is Andrew Curtin and I like lighting.

I like everything to do with lighting.

From the design to the the actual show. I like it all.

Right now I have been working in the warehouse of a lighting company in Calgary, Alberta Canada for exactly one year.

September 4, 2007 was my first day working full time for a professional lighting company. It’s September 4, 2008 today and here I sit at my computer thinking how far I have come and thinking how far I want to go.
